Si j'ai bien compris , les membres d'Enslaved et Wardruna vont interpréter Skuggsjá des chansons en rapport avec l'histoire de la Norvège. Si quelqu'un a plus d'info ça m’intéresse ( j'aime énormément les deux groupes ) car pas sur de moi la

We’re elated to announce that Enslaved and Wardruna will perform Skuggsjá, the sound of Norway’s Norse History at Houses of the Holistic, Ivar Bjørnson‘s and Einar “Kvitrafn” Selvik‘s curated Roadburn event on Friday, April 10 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Written by Bjørnson and Selvik for the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian Constitution and premiered this past weekend at the Eidsivablot festival, this will be Skuggsjá‘s first performance outside of Norway, and will certainly be one of the highlights of the 20th edition of Roadburn Festival.

Skuggsjá translates into ‘mirror’ or ‘reflection’ in the Norse language, and the commissioned piece not only contextualizes harder music’s role in the democracy in Norway in 2014, but also joins threads from the country’s ancient musical history and solidifies harder music’s position as Norway`s most important cultural export.

By highlighting ideas, traditions and instruments of their Norse past, Skuggsjá will tell the history of Norway and reflect relevant aspects from the past into the present day. In light of this they will reflect on themselves as a people and nation. In a magnificent tapestry of metal instrumentation, a wide variety of Norway and Scandinavia’s oldest instruments, and poetry in Proto-Scandinavian, Norse and Norwegian, Skuggsjá will be a fusion between past and present, both lyrically and musically.

+ The OSIRIS CLUB

Taking the best parts of 1970s progressive rock – just think King Crimson and a bit of early Genesis – 1980s post-punk, horror movie soundtracks and avant-metal, London’s The Osiris Club follow an occult path based on the writings of forgotten British novelist Margaret Cavendish.

Four years in the making, The Osiris Club‘s debut album, Blazing World, released through Norway ‘s Indie Recordings, has a definite cinematic feel – part other worldly mystery, part eccentric urban wizardry, part playful whimsy and always with twinges of a John Carpenter film score.

With members who have played with such luminaries as Angel Witch, The Osiris Club‘s rare live performances to date have been a riot of masks, robes, film backdrops and theatrics.

The gates will be open for an invasion of Lovecraftian beings at Roadburn 2015 when The Osiris Club will take to the stage, along with Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin playing the soundtrack to Susperia, on Sunday, April 12 at the 013 venue.


+ ZOLTAN

Clearly influenced by the Euro Horror underground film scene of the 70’s (and maybe a bit of the 80s, too), London based Zoltan manage to tread the line between eerie, spine chilling terror and spooky soundtrack-prog perfectly. Their two albums, beautifully recorded in full analogue glory, stand in testament to their musical prowess.

While ghosts of decomposed Knights Templar permeate Zoltan‘s homage to Tombs of the Blind Dead (released through Lee Dorrian‘s Rise Above Records – instand cred!), the band’s eerie, electronic symphonies also recall the John Carpenter type film scores, and without plagiarism. Yes, Zoltan deserve such high praise, as their instrumental dexterity, menacing atmosphere and vampish groove is utterly seamless and captivating.

The 20th edition of Roadburn Festival is going to be a treat for those who love soundtracks (having Claudio Simonetti‘s Goblin and Mugstar on the bill, too) and we’re excited to announce that Zoltan also will bring their horror synths to the 2015 festival on Saturday, April 11 at the 013 venue.

Ce festival m'intrigue mais je ne connais quasi rien a part Enslaved et Solstafir...

Pas évident, ça reste un festival à part musicalement parlant ... tu pourrais faire le lien avec la prog' de la Valley (Hellfest) ou du Desert fest, mais pas que ...

Donc une majorité de groupes stoner/psyche/doom/sludge/post-hardcore/drone ..., ça reste le "fonds de commerce" du fest, c'est certain.

Quelques groupes issus de la sphère "metal" avec un côté un peu progressif, genre Opeth, Meshuggah, Candlemass, Pentagram, Voivod, Ishahn/Leprous, Triptykon, Primordial ...

Un peu d'indus/gothique/darkwave genre Godflesh, Young Gods, Ozric Tentacles, Killing Joke, Ulver, Fields of the Nephilim

De temps en temps un groupe ovni, genre Napalm Death l'an passé, ou bien Enslaved, Solstafir ou Skeletonwitch cette année.

Point(s) commun(s) ? je dirais un mix de lourdeur, de musique sombre et de psychédélisme

Ce qui est certain, c'est que le fest propose à chaque fois des affiches du feu de Dieu, où les groupes ont la possibilité de jouer dans des conditions optimales (son et visuel), et surtout de proposer des shows exclusifs (niveau setlist ou via des jams)

Rha ouais j'aimerai trop le faire cette fois vu l'affiche  mais les places vont encore partir en quelques jours (heures?) et je peux pas me permettre de réserver autant à l'avance

L'année dernière les places ont été plus longues à s'écouler (la "faute" au nombre de fests concurrents qui se sont établis depuis : Stoned Gathering à Paris, Desertfest UK/DE et maintenant BE, Temples Festival, Valley au Hellfest,...).
Mais ça finira sold out.

J'aimerais bien le faire aussi mais c'est juste avant le Neurotic... C'est chouette les Pays Bas quand-même

Si tu aimes Anathema ils feront des show acoustiques dans des cathédrales en Angleterre en mars, ainsi qu'un concert spécial à Londres en avril "A celebration of the entire history of Anathema Music, featuring special guests Duncan Patterson and Darren White"
